For Licensed Operators in Colorado, Simplifya makes it easy to stay on top of your employees' Metrc Badges. Just add your Metrc API key, link your Simplifya users to their badges, and the user and their Manager(s) will receive reminder emails 45 days prior to the badge's expiration.
How does it work?
Once you've added your API key, Simplifya makes a daily call to the Metrc API and gets the list of Occupational Licenses for all employees stored in Metrc. Note: If not all employees are stored in Metrc, you won't have the most accurate overview of your badge holders.
To start using the Badges feature:
- Add your company's Metrc API key to your Simplifya account.
- Once your API key has been added, navigate to the Users module and click on the "Badges" tab.
On this "Badges" screen, you'll see a list of all employees in your company's Metrc account, along with their Badge Number, Badge Type, Start/End dates, Badge Status, and the Simplifya user that the badge is linked to ("Claiming User"). If this data has not populated yet, click the "Sync" button at the top.
For badges that are not currently "claimed" (linked to a user on your Simplifya account), there will not be a Simplifya user listed under "Claiming User" column. To claim a badge, click the ellipsis menu on the right. There are a few options:
- Claim Badge - This will allow you to select an existing Simplifya user to link the badge to.
- Create a Simplifya User - This will allow you to invite the employee to Simplifya, thereby linking their Metrc Badge to their Simplifya account.
Once a badge is claimed, the Simplifya user it's linked to, along with their Manager(s), will receive a reminder email 45 days prior to the badge expiration.
Note: You can unclaim badges by clicking the "Unclaim Badge" link in the ellipsis menu.
