We are sometimes criticized for providing Action Items that are nothing more than a regurgitation of the question. Here's a representative example:
Question: Does an employee escort all visitors, other than contractors, to the limited-access areas of the premises?
Action Item: Escort all visitors, other than contractors, to the limited-access areas of the premises.
Guilty as charged! But, in our defense, shouldn't the action item directly address the issue raised by the question?
Our guideline is to write the Action Item in a way that directly addresses the issue raised by the question. Most often, that means using the same language that was used in the question. This prevents the confusion that could be created by using inconsistent language.
That said, we are always open to suggestions and would welcome any ideas you have for improvement. Please share them with support@simplifya.com.
